It is always a great privilege to share in the journey of another individual. Coaching, as a professional discipline, offers just that privilege.
My own understanding is that, as distinct from therapy, or mentoring, or training, the coaching relationship is one of an accompanied journey toward a future horizon. The coach primarily brings themself as the resource; the coachee experiences the relationship as one of provactive friendship.
I have worked with more than two hundred and fifty individuals as a coach and now serve on the Accreditation Panel of the Association of Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS). I continue to hope that I may be able to serve, with integrity and respect, many others in the future.
