Discovering how steering cognition contributes to human society

DProf, MTh, MA Oxon, BTh, MBPsS

I am CEO of STEER, a UK company. As a cognitive scientist my primary research has involved pioneering the description of steering cognition, over the course of 17 years experimentation and study from 1999. I lead STEER'S research programme into steering cognition.

Previously I been engaged as a consultant to improve the steering cognition in leaders of large organisations, including Accenture, KPMG, PWC, government and charitable sector organisations. I taught at Wycliffe Hall, part of the University of Oxford for seven years.

I have written several books and papers including an influential trilogy on the effects of steering cognition biases in leadership entitled The Undefended Leader. My undergraduate studies at Oxford University were in Biological Sciences. I also hold MTh and BTh degrees. My doctorate was awarded for my contribution to professional fields of leadership & education. I am an Honorary Fellow at Bristol Graduate School of Education, an accredited executive coach and a qualified member of the British Psychological Society.

Welcome. My work involves studying, describing and applying how steering cognition influences human society.
